I offer a dynamic scheduling policy that has proven to be efficient. Due to my full time job, I rarely schedule exams more than 2-3 weeks out. When you are fully ready and signed off for your exam, reach out and I can almost always fit you in within 10-14 days, barring any existing scheduling blocks.
Exams are scheduled on a first come first serve basis. I will try my best to accommodate urgent requests, case by case.
Weather also plays a huge role in scheduling. One reason I avoid scheduling far out is because we have no clue if we will have flyable conditions. By scheduling exams sooner, we have a better idea of weather and reduce the risk of a reschedule.
Finally, being an examiner is my part time job. I have other commitments and obligations that take priority. Some things are completely out of my hands. For example, my full time job may extend me into a day that we have our exam scheduled. If we have to reschedule our exam for weather or due a schedule conflict I am having, you will be placed at the top of the scheduling list and I will get you my next available date. Because I don’t schedule exams far out, you have a good likelihood of being rescheduled in the same week we originally agreed on.

Life happens. I completely understand when people are sick or family issues come up. I also understand that as we approach exam day, you may not quite feel fully ready. I do not charge a cancelation fee in these circumstances, however you will be asked to leave 50% of your exam fee in order to secure a new date. Once the deposit is paid, I will put you back to the top of the scheduling list. You will pay the remaining half of the exam fee when we meet. If for whatever reason you anticipate not making our exam date please let me know sooner than later and I will extend the same courtesy to you.
There are fees associated with not qualifying for the exam. For example if you do not meet the aeronautical experience requirements, you are missing a document/endorsement or your aircraft is not airworthy. In these instances you will be charged half of your exam fee in order to secure a new date. You would pay a full exam fee on our new date.
As an FYI, if you happen to forget your medical or pilot certificate, you may visit airmen registry to receive temporary authorization to exercise privileges.
