Meet Mo

Mo began his aviation career while working full time as a customer experience manager for a Fortune 10 Company in 2017. There he developed the leadership, communication, and service skills that he eventually applied to his approach with flight instruction. After earning his Private Pilot License in September of 2018, Mo became a full-time student and completed his Instrument, Commercial Single/Multi-Engine, Certified Flight Instructor, and Instrument Instructor ratings by July of 2019. In 2021 Mo achieved his ATP Single Engine and ATP Multi Engine licenses with a CL-65 type rating.

Mo currently works part time as a professional flight instructor, combining his two passions of teaching and flying. In addition to freelance aviation consulting and instruction, Mo is a full time airline pilot, serving as a First Officer on the Boeing 767.

Since beginning as a flight instructor, Mo has amassed over 1500 hours giving instruction. Over 25 of Mo’s students have enjoyed a 90% first time FAA practical exam pass rate, a 100% FAA oral exam pass rate, and a 100% written exam pass rate. Focused on safety and committed to each student’s success, Mo is able to get the most out of each aviator to unlock their potential.

When he isn’t flying, Mo enjoys bike rides, working out, baseball, and spending quality time with loved ones. Mo is a huge White Sox fan and you can often find him flying over the Sox Park, with Midway’s approval of course!

FAQs

How do I get started?

The first step is your Discovery Flight! During that time you will get a detailed pre-flight briefing along with 1:1 time with an FAA Certified Flight Instructor who will guide you along your aviation journey. Contact me to schedule your first trip!

What can I do to best prepare for flight training and stay ahead of costs?

After each lesson your CFI will brief you on how the flight went, give you action items, and discuss what to expect for the next lesson. You can save money and get ahead by completing as much ground school on your own as possible. Sporty’s and King School both offer great study material that can help prepare you for both the oral and written exams.

Where are your aircraft based?

The current fleet is spread across KPWK, KMDW, 3CK, KLOT, and C81. Of course, we can come to you at any airport in the Chicagoland area!

How are aircraft rental rates decided?

Aircraft rental rates are decided by the private owners, flying clubs, and flight schools respectively. Typically these rates are based on fuel, oil, parking/hangar, and other operating expenses.

Will I be flying with only one flight instructor throughout my entire training?

While you will primarily be flying with Mo, you will have opportunities to fly with other CFIs throughout your training for various reasons.
